How do I measure my donkey for a blanket?

The velcro on the chest makes a snug fit. Attach the leg straps, as donkeys love to play, and try to pull the coat up. The leg straps job works perfectly, keeping the blanket secure.
Choosing A Blanket Weight (light, medium, or heavy) Based On The Temperature Outside:
30 – 40 degrees due to surgery or severe sickness. Write the R/A number on the outside of the box and enclose your receipt inside the box. Kensington will ship the replacement blanket quickly. The customer is responsible for the postage and for returning the blanket to Kensington.

I am so impressed with how well these fit.I bought the 300gram and although both my mini’s measured right at 42, I purchased the 46 and it fit absolutely perfect! I was worried the neck area would be too wide but it actually fit way better than other brands I have bought. That being said, I do wish the company would offer a high neck option. The quality is the best I have seen so far, sturdy stitching and nice heavy material. Having the Velcro belly band and front Velcro straps makes me feel much better about leaving the blankets on while I am not out there to monitor them. The back leg straps are by far better quality than other coats I have bought in the past. I would highly recommend this brand of coat and I would highly recommend purchasing from Donkey Whisperer. The price was actually less than I seen on other websites and Melody got the coats mailed out immediately, shipping the best method for my area and they arrived in just a few days. We bought 2 blankets back in October to have on hand after taking our Minis from my Fiances parents and moving to GA. The lightweight blankets feel durable but not overly bulky and fit great! We made sure to order sizes with an extra 4in as Melody recommends and it was a great decision, the hind leg straps help to keep the blankets from shifting when there’s a little extra room. We love the blankets so much we decided to order 5 more for the rest of the Minis.

Wonderful blankets that fit really well and are easy for my young kids to take on and off the donkeys! In the past we’ve used the Tough1 brand, which are comparable but have metal buckles. I prefer the strong velcro on these Kensington blankets, much less fumbling around when it’s cold and dark. They’re very well made and of great quality. And beautiful colors! I would advise to definitely order up a size, the way the blanket is constructed across the donkey’s topline, there is a pucker where they’re rear end should go, and on one of my donkey’s the coat is a little short and the pucker doesn’t sit in the right place. These blankets are also longer in the chest than the Tough1 brand. This would be my only complaint, one of my donkeys doesn’t like where it hits his knees. But overall I love these blankets and plan on ordering two more for my other donkeys.

Top notch customer service from Melody ! I love this blanket !!! Make sure to add the four inches as Melody recommends. I finally after 8 blankets have a perfect fir for my little man . I adopted him 2 years ago and he’s had a very hard 25 years with old injuries and arthritis. I needed a blanket for NY cold winters. I used Tough 1 before and they were never the same size and always shifted on him . This one keeps him warm and snug . He stays out longer on cold windy days now before he wants to come inside . I bought this blanket in the size that was measured according to the website directions. The blanket arrived in lightening speed! But it was too large length wise, perfect for her fat belly though! So Melody helped me through the exchange process, and refunded promptly as appropriate! The next size down is a perfect fit, and I have since bought another blanket for my other mini. Great quality, the fill is easily fluffed the dryer, good water repellency too. My minis appreciate the fit, with the extra long tail flap!

This is the first year of being a lucky donkey guardian and so I was lucky to have found this website at the start of that horrible cold front that brought snow to FL and below 0 temps here in south-central PA. I ordered the blanket on a Thursday evening and the blanket came Tuesday ( it would have come on Monday but it was delayed because of snow). I had borrowed a blanket in the meantime.
